St. John's University Joins Forces with the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum and the Italian Foundation of the Casa Belvedere to Benefit the Staten Island Victims of Hurricane Sandy

St. John's Annual Christmas Concert Proceeds to Go to
the Storm Victims
The Italian Cultural Center of St. John’s University has joined
forces with the Garibaldi-Meucci Museum, and the Italian Foundation
of the casa Belvedere to present the Staten Island Sandy Relief
Benefit on Sunday, December 09.
The benefit will combine two holiday traditions—St. John’s annual
holiday concert and the exhibition of the Presepio. The event
begins with the opening of the magnificent - 18th Century Style
Neapolitan Solidarity Crèche - Il Presepio Della Solidarietà. The
exhibit, a special 9-11 Tribute, was a gift of friendship and
solidarity from the Naples, Italy Chamber of Commerce to The New
York City Fire Department in honor of the victims of 9-11 and the
brave First Responders.
The unveiling will be followed by a cabaret-style Christmas Concert
and reception with the New American Youth Ballet and the Richmond
County Orchestra conducted by Maestro Alan Aurelia, followed by a
performance by TWO TENORS & A LADY - with VETRO Tenors
Christopher Macchio & Elio Scaccio and Soprano Marissa
Famiglietti.

Community Relations of St. John’s University and a Co-Chair of the
Garibaldi-Meucci Museum Board of Directors, said, “We are ever so

solidarity with our sisters and brothers who have suffered so much
from the storm that occurred several weeks ago.”
