St. John's Bread and Life Recognized During 121212 The Concert for Sandy Relief
December 14, 2012
St. John’s Bread and Life was recognized during Wednesday’s 121212
The Concert for Sandy Relief for its efforts in aiding the victims
of Hurricane Sandy. In
the days after the storm, Bread and Life teamed up with the Robin
Hood Foundation, driving the Mobile Soup Kitchen into some of the
hardest hit areas of Brooklyn to deliver hot meals and warm clothes
to those in need.
During the December 12 concert at Madison Square Garden, talk show
host Jimmy Fallon, who was born in Brooklyn, acknowledged the
efforts of the Bread and Life staff, commending them on being able
to “get their mobile food unit in through all the devastation,
amazingly,” and allowing the first hot meals to be delivered to the
heavily hit area of Coney Island.
