College of Professional Studies Holds Annual Awards Ceremony to Honor Students

To
honor the outstanding accomplishments of its students, St. John’s
University College of Professional Studies held its annual Awards
Ceremony on Tuesday, April 21, 2009, in Marillac Terrace. About 75
College of Professional Studies faculty and administrators turned
out to honor more than 100 students for academic excellence and
service to the College.

The students being honored are among the finest in the College.
Award recipients are nominated by faculty, are being inducted into
honor societies to which they applied, or have achieved exemplary
grade point averages. Students were recognized for both service and
academics.
The evening consisted of a dinner and the awards ceremony. The
Annual Dean’s Award was presented to Joseph Lobosco and Audree
Maldonado for their dedication and commitment to the College.
Kathleen Vouté MacDonald, Ed.D., Dean of the College of
Professional Studies and her staff ran the event for the 350 people
that attended. Dean MacDonald said of the event, “The ceremony was
a wonderful opportunity for recipients to celebrate with their
families and faculty mentors.”
Fr. Michael Cummins, Assistant Dean, served as Master of Ceremonies
for the evening. Fr. John Kettelberger, University Ministry,
provided the Invocation and Dr. Julia Upton, Provost, presented as
well.
