  Chartwells Is Taking Action to Prevent Contaminated Peanut Products Being Offered at St. John's 9:00 AM Chartwells and its parent company Compass Group have been monitoring the peanut butter recall and are taking action to ensure that salmonella-contaminated food products are not sold at St. John’s.

• Mary Halpine, President of World Youth Alliance, to Speak During Founder’s Week 9:00 AM Mary Halpine, President of the World Youth Alliance (WYA), will speak to students, faculty and staff at St. John’s University as part of the school’s Founder’s Week Celebration on January 28. Her talk “Acting Locally and Globally” will take place at 3:30 p.m. at the University Center Storm Center at its Queens Campus.

• St. John’s Debate Society Competes in World Debate Championships in Ireland 9:00 AM Four St. John’s University Debate Society members became the first representatives of St. John’s to participate in the World University Debate Championships over the winter intersession.

• Inauguration of Ladies of Charity at St. John’s 9:00 AM Vowing to serve those in need, 34 St. John’s women launched Founder’s Week on Jan. 25 by forming the first University-based association of the Ladies of Charity during inaugural ceremonies on the Queens campus.

• St. John's Mock Trial Team Kicks Off Season at Fordham Pre-Season Invitational 9:00 AM The St. John’s University Mock Trial Team, coached by Professors Bernard Helldorfer and Oscar Holt, III and assisted by Kareem Vessup, Esq., begins its 17th season of competition at Fordham University’s Pre-Season Invitational this weekend.
