Second Employee Class Completes Life-Changing Vincentian Mission Certificate Program

This month twenty-seven employees became the second cohort to earn their Vincentian Mission Certificates (VMC), joining the first cohort of 57 employees who graduated in 2008. The graduates represented 19 different areas of the University.

Biology Professor Takes Undergraduates on a Journey to the National Cancer Research Symposium

Professor of Molecular and Cell Biology Timothy Carter, Ph.D. and eight undergraduate students enrolled in the capstone course “Biology of Cancer” recently returned from Denver, CO where they joined more than 17,000 members of the international research community at the 100th Annual Meeting of the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) .

Manhattan Campus Hosts Annual Convention of American Association of Italian Studies

For the first time in its history, the American Association of Italian Studies (AAIS), an organization composed of college and university professors who teach Italian language and literature, held its annual convention at the Manhattan Campus of St. John’s University. The convention, which ran from May 7-10, attracted about 450 scholars from all over the world.

St. John’s Awards Student Videos That “Capture the Storm”

The Capture the Storm contest, co-sponsored by Student Affairs and the Office of Marketing and Communications, was a huge success with a total of 27 video entries. During the month-long contest in April, undergraduate students submitted YouTube videos on topics ranging from their best moments throughout the school year to highlights of a study abroad semester in Rome.
