St. John’s Launches First Semester-Long Study Abroad Program in Paris

Students already signed up for St. John’s first-ever semester-long study abroad program in Paris are getting ready for the experience of a lifetime. This fall they will be immersed in the rich culture, language and history of French life with multiple opportunities to serve the poor and disadvantaged of Paris.

St. John's Student-Athletes Recognized as Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars

St. John’s University’s student-athletes are consistently being recognized for their outstanding contribution to sports and academics – and this year is no exception. For their hard work and dedication throughout the 2008-2009 academic year, 20 Red Storm athletes were presented with the Diverse: Issues In Higher Education magazine Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholars Award.

Global Language and Culture Center to Open at St. John’s

The new Center, as currently conceived, will be located in Council Hall, and will be sectioned into individual language areas where students can experience a particular language and culture through conversation, television broadcasts and other presentations—in essence, become totally immersed in that language and culture.

In Discover Bermuda, Students Study Social and Environmental Issues Facing The Island Nation

Thirteen St. John’s University students recently completed a pioneering, multidisciplinary Global Studies course that used the University’s focus on service and sustainability as a lens for on-site study of social and environmental issues facing the island nation of Bermuda.

St. John’s Paramedic Program Advances Careers and Saves Lives

Paramedics undergo rigorous training to achieve their certification as the highest level of pre-hospital care provider. St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions is one of nine nationally accredited schools in New York State to offer this certification.
