  Changes to Parking - Queens Campus 9:00 AM As we approach the 2009-2010 academic year, the Department of Public Safety would like to update the University community on a number of changes to parking at the Queens campus.

• St. John's "Participate in '09" Student Initiative Announces Candidate Forums 9:00 AM New York City Comptroller Forum, September 3; Public Advocate Forum, September 10

• St. John’s New Sustainability Committee Plants Organic Garden 9:00 AM St. John’s is in the process of ‘cultivating its own (organic) garden.’ The student-run venture marks the University’s most recent achievement in response to Mayor Bloomberg’s Mayoral Challenge to reduce carbon emissions by 2017.

• Parking Advisory - Queens Campus 9:00 AM During Move-In Weekend, August 29-30, the following Queens campus parking lots will be closed: Main lot in front of the School of Law, Employee lot next to the School of Law, Sullivan Hall lot (behind Sullivan Hall) and St. Albert Hall parking lot. These lots are closed starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2009, and reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2009.

• For St. John’s Public Safety Department, Summer Is No Vacation 9:00 AM “Our work is really never done,” says Vice President of Public Safety Thomas Lawrence. “No matter the time of year, and even when most of the campus community is gone, we’re still patrolling, we’re training, we’re responding to requests for assistance and keeping the St. John’s community and campuses safe.”
