  First Annual Securities Dispute Resolution Triathlon Held at St. John’s School of Law 9:00 AM The Hugh L. Carey Center for Dispute Resolution of St. John’s University Law School and the Financial Industry Regulator Authority (FINRA) co-hosted the first annual Securities Dispute Resolution on October 17-18, 2009 at St. John’s University Manhattan Campus.

• Vincent and Louise House Welcomes New Group of Students 9:00 AM A community living experience in the Residence Village, the Vincent and Louise House has welcomed its new 2009-2010 academic year community.  In the first weeks of its third year, the V and L House, as it is commonly called, has given its members an opportunity to be a part of a program that incorporates the foundational pillars of community living, service, spirituality and simple living. 

• College of Pharmacy Teams with Talyst Inc. to Provide Students with Newest Pharmacy Dispensing Technology 9:00 AM St. John’s College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions became one of the first Colleges of Pharmacy in the United States to partner with medication management company Talyst, Inc., during a special recognition ceremony to thank the corporation for their generosity in donating state-of-the-art medical equipment to the University.

• Academic Lecture Series: Greening the Ghetto - Queens Campus 9:00 AM Born, raised, and continuing to live in the South Bronx, Majora Carter's work takes her around the world in pursuit of resources and ideas to improve the quality of life in environmentally challenged communities.

• Astronaut to Discuss the Fatal Space Shuttle Columbia Accident - Lessons Learned? 9:00 AM All members of the St. John’s community are invited to hear Charles Camarda, Ph.D., astronaut, researcher and engineer, speak about the fatal Space Shuttle Columbia accident and the behavioral causes found to be significant by the Columbia Accident Investigation Board.

• St. John’s Center for Psychological Services Receives Second Grant for Its Military Services Initiative. 9:00 AM An innovative support program for servicemen and women and their families offered at St. John’s University’s Center for Psychological Services has again received a grant from the New York State Office of Mental Health.
