This workshop is composed of four interrelated topics. First,
Dr. Ackoff will show that emergent systems thinking can handle the
problems that traditional analytical and reductionist thinking
can't. Next, he will discuss two of the major implications of such
thinking to the way organizations are currently managed. Then he
will consider three of the major changes required in organizational
designs to survive in the 21st century. Finally, he will consider
why organizations suppress learning and adaptation, and what can,
and needs, to be done about it.
