| Re: | Ready New York Emergency
Preparedness Presentations |
In response to New Yorkers’ growing concerns about public
safety, the New York City Office of Emergency Management launched
the Ready New York campaign in July 2003. St. John’s Public
Safety Department and Emergency Preparedness Operations Team enjoy
a professional working relationship with NYC OEM and are
pleased that the Office of Emergency Management will be giving
Ready New York presentations on each of our campuses.
Ready New York’s three guiding principles — develop a household
disaster plan, put together a Go Bag and assemble an emergency
supply kit — are designed to help New Yorkers better prepare for
all types of emergencies, from hurricanes to utilities disruptions
to terrorist attacks.
This year's presentations will take place on the following
days and locations and will focus on personal preparedness as well
as Hurricane Preparedness since the Atlantic hurricane season
officially runs from June 1 though November 30.
