On Tuesday, August 26, 2008, we will hold the Faculty Convocation.
The purpose of the convocation is to introduce and welcome new
faculty members, and to honor those who have served the University
community well.
Among the honorees will be those named Professor Emeritus by the
Board of Trustees during the last academic year, those who have
completed thirty, forty and fifty years of service and recipients
of the 2008 Excellence in Teaching and Scholarship Award. In
addition, we will be honoring Dr. Pauline Magee-Egan with the
President's Medal.
I would like to take this opportunity to extend to you and your
spouse or guest a cordial invitation to attend the ceremony and
reception to follow. I know you will wish to join me in extending a
hearty St. John's welcome to those who will be joining our ranks
and to add your applause as we pay tribute to our colleagues.
The Convocation will be held in Taffner Field House beginning at
4 p.m.
